Gwangcheon Kim (광천김) – roasted laver seaweed – roasted laver seaweed is made from seaweed grown naturally in the West Sea of Korea (The Yellow Sea). It is twice roasted and then seasoned with perilla oil, corn oil, sesame oil, and salt. The perilla oil is carefully extracted from plants to get the most robust flavor profile. The sesame oil is processed using the old mill method resulting in rich, aromatic flavors. These premium made oils season the roasted laver with deep and rich flavors. Roasted laver seaweed is low calorie, sugar-free, cholesterol-free, and contains 0 trans fats. Our roasted laver seaweed also has more protein than others (1 g/0.04 oz per serving)! It can be a guilt free snack with a satisfying crisp eaten straight out of the package. Our roasted laver seaweed can also be used to make delicious rice balls (주먹밥), rolled egg omelets, kimbap (김밥), or fried seaweed rolls (김말이 gimmari). When cooking with the seaweed, a kitchen towel or paper towel can be placed underneath to absorb moisture and keep the seaweed crispy.
